Role: AI Engineer
Location: Washington, D.C. (Onsite 2-4days/week)
Duration: 6 months contract

Job description:
The AI Engineer will design, develop, and deploy advanced AI/ML solutions to support digital transformation initiatives, improve decision-making, and enhance operational efficiency across the VPU.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's/Master's in CS, Data Science, or related field.
3+ years' experience in AI/ML model development & deployment.
Hands-on with MLOps (MLflow), Docker, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform).
Strong experience with LLMs, RAG, NLP, GenAI, and vector databases.
Proficient in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, NLP frameworks.
Familiarity with REST APIs, API Management, NoSQL & SQL databases.

Preferred Certifications

Azure AI Engineer Associate
Google ML Engineer
SAFe ASE
AI Ethics certification

Key Responsibilities

Build, train, and optimize AI/ML and LLM/RAG models.
Deploy AI solutions into production and support ongoing monitoring/tuning.
Integrate AI models into existing systems and workflows.
Conduct data preprocessing, feature engineering, and bias/drift monitoring.
Develop documentation and train users on AI solutions.
Support AI governance, strategy, and roadmap initiatives.

Deliverables

AI Proof-of-Concepts.
Production-ready AI/ML and LLM solutions.
Documentation, training materials, and continuous enhancements.
