Description
SAIC has an immediate opening for a Configuration Management Engineer with practical space experience to provide Systems Engineering & Technical Advisory (SETA) support services to work with the customer to lead configuration management efforts for this program, integrating space and ground development with complex user and broad system interfaces. As a Systems Engineer & Integration Professional, you will work with stakeholders to maintain configuration control of system requirements, model based systems engineering artifacts and system interfaces. The candidate should possess demonstrated working knowledge of large space/ground systems integration and test activities to enable the successful demonstration of operational capabilities in a larger enterprise.
The engineer sought here will serve a USG Program Office in the development of an evolutionary, revolutionary, and transformational ground architecture to support the customer's next generation space systems and technology. The architecture will support and deliver capabilities in a modular, open architecture that provides global, persistent, real-time surveillance and activity based intelligence information.
The work location is in Chantilly, Virginia and requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph for consideration.

Responsibilities Include:
- Provide Systems Engineering expertise as part of a world-class Engineering and Integration team
- Conduct and maintain Configuration Management of program baseline
- Develop briefings and assessments to a variety of audiences, and convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership
- Strategize with government, SETA and industry partners to conceptualize a future ground architecture to drive the customer's new space architecture
- Collaborate across multiple teams to refine requirements and system trades
- Provide programmatic and acquisition support to include drafting Request for Proposal and Statement of Work material and participating in source selection activities
- Participate in design reviews and technical interchange meetings to assess and guide development activities performed by development contractors
- Review development contractor's documents and procedures, requirements flow down, verification methodologies, calibration plans, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and test plans to ensure program success
- Technical and programmatic support through the entire project life cycle including concept development, system definition, acquisition planning, source selection, system design, development, integration and test, system delivery, and mission operations
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with Poly
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience (additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)
- Experience in systems integration and configuration management
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with lifecycle systems integration
- Experience in Space and SIGINT
- Experience with DOORS Next
- Experience in large systems acquisition
- Experience in leading contractor/industry teams
- Experience with Agile software development
