RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Software Developer - Paymentus in Walnut Creek, CA.

Essential Functions:
* Serves as a lead software engineering resource on the Digital Engineering team while building the next generation of customer-facing web and mobile applications; Responsible for team-level strategic technical ownership and "hands-on" design, implementation and delivery of large-scale or significantly difficult software solutions that have a long-term impact on a product, technology or architecture in accordance with Digital Engineering's Technology Strategy
* Leads the design, delivery and maintenance of large-scale and complex software applications within an entire technology or application area
* Works with stakeholders to understand and translate complex, real-world problems into feasible technology solutions
* Develops clear and complete design artifacts as needed to show Digital Engineering technology
* Acts as a consultant to a specific technology area, providing thought leadership on modern application architecture considering performance, Accessibility, Usability, Security, Analytics, Automation and Quality Assurance
* Understands and communicates tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
* Contributes a leading perspective on specific technologies within digital applications
* Collaborates with Architects to establish a technical vision for various projects and experiences
* Proactively identifies and reviews opportunities and establishes new patterns to ensure a safe, consistent and seamless user experience
* Invents, adopts or evolves technical decisions, processes and standards to support an efficient SDLC
* Establishes standards for recruiting, hiring and mentoring exceptional software engineering talent
* Partners with architects and other engineering teams to ensure the digital ecosystem of applications and services are durable and scalable

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong background in cloud computing, with extensive experience in AWS Serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Step Functions)
* Proven experience in migrating legacy applications to modern architectures
* Expertise in Api Design and Full life cycle management, specifically in building and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices
* Deep understanding of software development principles, design patterns and best practices for scalable, reliable and secure cloud applications
* Previous experience working on payment systems, preferably in the financial services, insurance, or fintech sectors
* Ensures that technical solutions are aligned with Enterprise Architecture and applications and systems are built for uninterrupted availability, meet performance requirements, future extensibility, multiple system integrations, long-term growth and low-maintenance support

Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's/Bachelor's or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field
* AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer) are a plus
* Familiarity with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs and event-driven systems
* Experience working in regulated industries, particularly in auto insurance or financial services

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
