Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Hardware Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our next generation of video computing hardware products, including on- premises servers, edge appliances, and integrated AI processing systems.
This individual will serve as the bridge between engineering, operations, and go-to- market teams, ensuring that our hardware offerings are not only high-performing and reliable but also tightly aligned with our software ecosystem and customer needs.
This position demands a hands-on leader with a builder's mindset - someone who thrives in ambiguity, embraces problem-solving, and can turn a concept into a shipping product. You'll help define and implement hardware strategies from the ground up while influencing key business decisions related to design, manufacturing, partnerships, and global expansion.
Core Responsibilities Product Strategy & Roadmap
Develop and own the hardware product roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall company strategy, market trends, and customer requirements.
Define product positioning, key differentiators, and performance benchmarks that set the hardware apart in the AI-driven video computing market.
Partner closely with the CEO, CTO, and cross-functional stakeholders to define short- and long-term growth initiatives.
End-to-End Product Lifecycle Management
Oversee the complete lifecycle from concept and design through manufacturing, launch, and sustainment.
Translate complex technical requirements into clear product specifications and deliverables.
Manage prototype development, testing, and field validation, ensuring products meet both technical and regulatory standards.
Establish documentation, configuration control, and version management processes suitable for a rapidly evolving start-up.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate daily with Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, AI, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to bring products to life.
Serve as the hardware subject-matter expert internally, guiding technical trade- offs and ensuring strong product market fit.
Lead internal reviews, stakeholder updates, and go-to-market readiness meetings with executive leadership.
Vendor & Manufacturing Oversight
Identify and manage hardware component suppliers, OEMs, and contract manufacturers across domestic and international markets.
Negotiate vendor terms, ensure production timelines, and track supply chain health to minimize risk.
Establish scalable quality assurance processes and testing protocols that meet enterprise and government security standards.
Customer & Market Insight
Engage directly with customers, system integrators, and channel partners to gather insights and identify unmet needs.
Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking across the physical security and computing hardware sectors.
Incorporate real-world feedback into continuous product improvement and future roadmap iterations.
Go-to-Market & Commercial Enablement
Partner with Sales and Marketing to build product launch strategies, sales tools, datasheets, and technical collateral.
Train the commercial team to effectively position and sell hardware solutions within integrated AI and cloud ecosystems.
Contribute to pricing models, margin analysis, and volume forecasting to ensure commercial viability and scalability.
Innovation & Start-Up Execution
Take a hands-on role in experimentation, rapid prototyping, and technical validation in collaboration with the engineering team.
Introduce agile product management practices and frameworks that suit a lean, fast-moving organization.
Championing a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and cross- functional transparency.
Skills
Product management, Product roadmap, Product Strategy, Hardware, CPU, GPU, Digital, User stories, Project management, Stakeholder management, Roadmap, Strategy
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or Business (master's preferred).
Experience: 5-10 years of product management experience in hardware, networking, or physical security technologies, ideally within a start-up or early- growth environment.
Start-Up DNA:
o Self-starter mentality with the ability to operate effectively in an unstructured environment.
o Strong bias for action, ownership, and iterative execution.
o Experience building product frameworks and processes from scratch.
Technical Proficiency:
o Deep understanding of CPU/GPU architecture, networking, and system integration.
o Familiarity with video surveillance systems, IP cameras, AI inference workloads, and storage sizing based on bitrate and resolution.
o Working knowledge of edge computing, embedded systems, and cloud interoperability.
Leadership & Communication:
o Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
o Skilled in presenting product strategy and performance updates to executive and investor audiences.
o Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
Analytical & Strategic Thinking:
o Strong data-driven mindset; comfortable using KPIs and customer feedback to shape decisions.
o Capable of balancing short-term delivery with long-term vision.

o Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under tight timelines.
