Job Description

Our client is a recognized leading global provider of automated semiconductor wafer handling tools for top tier global customer base with strong track record seeking a senior level software engineer with experience in developing/testing Cimetrix based SECS/GEM applications wafer handling EFEMs.

Position overview:

Your SECS/GEM experience is essential as our client supports their customer needs to meet Industry 4.0 demands. Every day, you will partner with some of the most talented individuals in the automation industry.

Candidates must have solid understanding of robotics, algorithms, and modern software concepts as well as experience developing and supporting software shipped to end customers. The senior software engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining software shipped with the client’s framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance our client’s framework in collaboration with their software team
  • Develop industry-ready machine software using this framework which follows the SECS/GEM standards
  • Review equipment user interfaces for consistency and functionality and provide input to development teams
  • Document and communicate findings of bugs, feedback, and issues seen in a professional manner
  • Verify software meets all SECS/GEM standards and custom requirements from the customer

Qualifications:

  • Semiconductor equipment MUST run flawlessly 24/7. This is a highly visible position where attention to detail and supreme professionalism is paramount.
  • A master's degree or PHD in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar discipline along with a demonstrated focus/interest in both software engineering (Not required if sufficient skill level can be demonstrated)
  • 5+ years software development in C#/.NET and UI frameworks WPF/UWP
  • 5+ years of experience developing SECS/GEM interfaces or working with SECS/GEM standards preferably for 300mm
  • Ability to produce well thought-out code that can scale, and meets performance, security, and availability considerations
  • Experience with Linux operating systems, Semiconductor Equipment and/or Software, testing software on industrial equipment and other hardware platforms is a plus
  • Clear and accurate written and verbal communication
  • Relocation to the Boston or Bulgaria area preferred but not required
  • Love of robotics
