A DevOps Engineer (Unix/Linux) role is available for our client, a Global Investment Bank. The candidate must be local to the Houston, TX area for this Full-Time Hybrid position, able to commute to the office three days/week.

This role is great for someone looking for their next challenge to work in the Commodities and Global Markets space and take part in a number of ongoing initiatives within the team to support the business as they go through a transformational change. The most ideal candidate will be someone who has started their career as a Unix Admin and has gained experience with scripting and infrastructure automation as a DevOps Engineer.

THE DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions that leverage different systems and technologies to meet business needs.
  • You will be liaising regularly with other teams in the client's wider Technology group to maintain Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and other aspects of their core systems.
  • You will build and support applications, while maturing your DevOps capability.
  • Will move trading platforms to public Cloud, rework architecture, support existing On-prem Infrastructure.

THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO GET THE ROLE:
  • This role is well suited to strong Unix/Linux System Administrators who have transitioned into DevOps or DevOps Engineers, who enjoy working closely with business users and handling multiple queries.
  • In-depth knowledge of Unix and Linux (Red Hat Linux desired)
  • Proven experience with automation tools (Python, Ansible, Golang etc.)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD.
  • Prior experience with working in Public Cloud Environments will be highly beneficial to your success in this role.
It would also be a bonus if you have:
  • Understanding of Micro services architecture.
  • Previous experience transforming legacy applications to Cloud.

SALARY RANGE:
$130-$150k
