CONSTRUCTION COMPLIANCE AUDITOR - ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST

Location: Columbus, OH.
Job type: 6-month Contract

Our global EPC Firm client is hiring a Construction Compliance Auditor for a six (6) month contract opportunity for their client in Columbus, OH.

There's is NO Per Diem for this position. Looking for Local candidates.

You will perform Environmental compliance monitoring of a utility scale solar project in Franklin County, Ohio.
The actual Solar project site is about 20 mins away from the Columbus office. Once at the site you with utilize company vehicle while on site.
The selected candidate will work 10 hours per day (probably starting at 7AM) from Monday to Saturday. Will get paid Overtime based on the OH state law.
Staff will be on site 6 days per week and will observe all construction activities to confirm compliance with applicable laws and permits, and minimizes impact to environmental, cultural, and biological resources, and verify the project adheres to environmental compliance commitments made to regulators and other stakeholders. Attend bi-weekly project team meetings and draft bi-weekly inspection reports. Complete daily logs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology Ecology, Natural Resources, or a related field from an accredited program is a MUST.
  • 1 - 4 year of experience in environmental compliance monitoring, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Familiarity with Ohio environmental regulations and permitting requirements - Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, USACE Permitting, Ohio EPA and ODNR requirements.
  • MUST have knowledge: NPDES SWPPP/ESCP permitting
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Environmental inspection and monitoring
  • SWPPP inspections and documentation
  • BMP (Best Management Practices) implementation review and inspection
  • Spill prevention and response oversight
  • Permit and regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with construction-related environmental permits (e.g., NPDES)
  • Tracking and verifying adherence to permit conditions
  • Field observation and reporting
  • Daily site walkthroughs and monitoring construction activities
  • Identifying and documenting non-compliance
  • Report writing and issue tracking
  • Any certificate is a plus - especially OSHA 10.
