Usability Specialist III - Contract Role (Onsite, Seattle, WA)
Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite, M-F, 9 AM - 5 PM PST)
Contract: 8-month W2 contract, with potential for extension
Pay Rate: $45 - $50/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: 40 hours per week
About the Role
We are supporting a leading global technology and entertainment company in hiring a Usability Specialist 3. This organization is at the forefront of streaming innovation, delivering movies, TV series, live events, and sports to millions of customers across more than 200 territories. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence the user experience of a highly visible and globally recognized entertainment platform.
The Usability Specialist 3 will work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, engineers, and data scientists to conduct user research, analyze findings, and deliver actionable insights that shape future product development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a variety of UX research methods, including usability testing, surveys, heuristic reviews, contextual inquiry, card sorting, field studies, and competitive reviews.
- Define research goals, recruit participants, create testing materials, and establish success criteria.
- Execute end-to-end research, including study planning, session moderation, data analysis, and reporting.
- Present research findings and provide actionable recommendations to design and product teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review wireframes and prototypes, ensuring ease of use and improved customer experiences.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in the following:
- Prioritizing and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data
- Stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
- Study planning, survey design, survey analysis, and usability studies
- Proven experience running both quantitative and qualitative UX research
- Experience working directly with product, design, and engineering teams to influence decision-making
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with major technology or entertainment companies is a plus
- Familiarity with UserTesting, Qualtrics, and Dscout
- Bachelor s degree required; Master s degree preferred
