Must-Have Technical Skills

  • Advanced hands-on experience with TWS (Tivoli Workload Scheduler) 10 / IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS)

  • Expertise in:

    • TDWC (Dynamic Workload Console)

    • Master Domain Manager (MDM) & Backup MDM

    • JSC (Job Scheduling Console)

    • Agent Management (Fault-Tolerant, Extended, Standard Agents)

  • Strong UNIX (AIX/Linux) & Shell Scripting skills

  • Strong understanding of WebSphere

  • Good knowledge of DB2 database technologies

  • Strong Networking skills for distributed workload environments

  • Experience with ServiceNow (Incident/Change/Problem)

  • Hands-on experience with AWS for workload scheduling deployments

  • IBM Tivoli Certification (Preferred)

  • ITIL Certification (Preferred)


Roles & Responsibilities

TWS / IWS Platform Design, Build & Administration

  • Perform hands-on design, installation, configuration, and administration of the TWS/IWS platform

  • Build & maintain a high-availability TWS platform in AWS

  • Build and support Dynamic Workload Console (TDWC) environments

  • Manage DR/BCP environments including failover, swing operations, and readiness testing

  • Drive TWS migration to AWS, including architecture assessment and execution

  • Migrate platform from AIX to Linux

  • Perform DB2 migration activities associated with TWS implementations

  • Implement TWS in AWS including:

    • Configuration

    • High-availability

    • Security patching

    • Maintenance tasks

Operations & Support

  • Manage L1/L2 TWS Platform Support teams

  • Provide advanced administration:

    • Performance tuning

    • Designing new solutions

    • Building test cases

    • Environment customization

  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues and provide escalation support

  • Liaise with product vendors for upgrades, patching, and platform fixes

  • Perform on-call rotation support for Critical Batch Scheduling

Scheduling Administration

  • Manage and configure:

    • Scheduling objects

    • Calendars

    • Agents (installation, upgrades, troubleshooting)

    • Job execution account IDs

    • Event rules

    • Alerts & notifications

  • Support end-to-end batch job automation and batch operations

Governance & Best Practices

  • Ensure compliance with ITIL standards for Incident, Problem, and Change Management

  • Recommend upgrade paths, patch levels, and best practices

  • Maintain platform documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational SOPs

  • Keep up to date with new Tivoli/IWS product releases, features, and patches


Good-to-Have

  • Experience supporting large enterprise-scale workload scheduling environments

  • Experience integrating TWS with modern DevOps pipelines

  • Knowledge of additional scripting tools (Python, Perl, etc.)

  • Experience with backup, logging, and monitoring tools related to batch scheduling
