    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Kforce has a client in Allen, TX that is seeking a Data Scientist - Fintech: Banking, Fraud, Payments. This role interfaces with various cross-functional stakeholders in Data Services, DevOps, Development, client facing and leadership teams.

    Summary:
    We have an urgent need for a Data Scientist with fintech experience for a remote position with a leading FinTech client. We are needing to identify someone in the next 2 weeks to join for exciting new work efforts. The Data Scientist will be joining a fast paced, start-up feeling, group as part of a profitable and growing business unit. They will work on a team to create end-to-end machine learning opportunities. This person will work with the business to understand business problems and turn them into data science problems. The successful candidate will apply data science techniques from machine learning to a combination of third party and internal proprietary datasets to launch/enhance AI products that help our financial institutions deliver faster, safer payment experiences and build digital engagement.

    Responsibilities:
    * Translate business requirements into data science problems for a variety of use cases including real-time fraud detection and financial wellness
    * Feature engineer and pre-process raw data to optimize model performance
    * Implement end-to-end ML pipeline and model training to deliver AI use cases using machine learning
    * Drive model selection by comparing a variety of statistical and machine learning algorithms
    * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage data lake in assembling and synthesizing training datasets from a wide variety of data sources
    * Prototype, refine, develop, deploy and scale ML models for Jack Henry AI products
    * Enhancing client experience of our products through usage data analysis, ad hoc analytics and metrics

    REQUIREMENTS:
    * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Economics, Applied Math or related analytical field with course work/certifications in Data science. AWS certifications highly preferred
    * 6+ years of hands-on work experience as data scientist with machine learning focused skillset
    * Business acumen and experience with creating solutions to address the business problem, planning, and execution
    * Keen interest in understanding payments business domains and their data
    * Prior end to end experience delivering a client facing ML based AI product/business solution from data extraction and feature engineering to model training and deployment
    * Experience in practical data processing working with large scale datasets, data mining/transformation, and information retrieval tasks
    * Experience with modern programming languages (Python, R, Javascript) and open-source technologies
    * Experience with Machine Learning APIs and computational packages (e.g., - Scikit-Learn, SciPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, stats models)
    * Experience with business analytics, creating ad hoc analyses to inform client usage and user adoption of products
    * Must be a collaborator and team player

    Nice to have:
    * Prior experience with AWS AI/ML stack - Sagemaker, Feature Store, Kinesis, and Lambda highly preferred
    * Experience implementing fraud detection solutions
    * Experience with Agile methodologies
    * Prior experience in Payments/Banking/Fintech
    * Excellent communication and presentation skills

    The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
