Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Cybersecurity Analyst with a passion to take on new challenges and embrace opportunities to complete objectives. While our office is in Middletown, RI, you will support our Connecticut office as well as engage with others in remote work locations. You will report to the Information Security Manger while working closely with a small team of likeminded cybersecurity analysts, network and systems administrators and help desk administrators.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Support daily operations to maintain information security, including analysis of real-time and historical alerts.
- Prioritize security tickets and triage security incidents according to SLA.
- Configure, maintain, and monitor security tools to detect known and unknown security threats.
- Review vulnerability scan results and create a Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) to support remediation activities.
- Assist in the creation and review of policies and procedures, as well as end-user guides and training materials.
- Support evaluation of hardware and software systems that provide security functions.
- Support ongoing third-party audits and demonstrate technical configurations with control implementation.
Additional Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of full-time information security experience.
- Candidate must possess or be actively pursuing the CompTIA Security + certification.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technology skills
- Experience implementing security control frameworks (e.g. NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001)
- Working knowledge of the DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) to evaluate cybersecurity capabilities and optimize security investments.
- Comfortable reviewing and analyzing real-time and historical security-related data.
- Experience using network and security monitoring tools.
- Effective written and verbal skills.
- Able to take direction as well as the desire to take initiative.
- Position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance with the US Government.
