General Summary:

Qualcomm's Silicon Validation team is part of the central SoC digital hardware organization responsible for the overall quality of the SoC silicon. The validation team works closely with architects, designers, verification engineers, software engineers, and customers. We are currently seeking a candidate for the position of Debug Engineer. Great opportunity for recent college graduate and also engineers with up to 3 years' experience.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, the candidate will support three critical roles:

1. Bring up, debug, analyze failures at the embedded platform level.

2. Support, develop, and implement solutions for faster debug at the platform level including isolating failing components of a system

3. Creating debug strategies and plans for partners to more rapidly triage failures to isolate specific components including PVT and marginality issues.

  • Experience with post-silicon enabling, bring-up , analyze failures at the embedded platform level.
  • Support, develop, and implement solutions for faster debug at the platform level including isolating failing components of a system
  • Creating debug strategies and plans for partners to more rapidly triage failures to isolate specific components including PVT and marginality issues.
  • Debugging low level software and hardware issues
  • Debug tools including Logic Analyzer, JTAG and kernel debuggers
  • Using Lab Equipment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience working in silicon and are expected to have experience in:
  • Debugging Embedded hardware issues with focus SoC, interfaces, and boards using tools including JTAG and SW debuggers.
  • Bring-up of hardware-software solution on emulation platforms and on fresh SOC designs.
  • Experience in Debugging System level use cases and good understanding of SoC
  • Detailed understanding of embedded systems, board design, signal integrity, and SoC architectures strongly desired.
  • Experience programming in C and Python Emulation environments for development and debug.
  • Strong SoC silicon debug background solving hardware and software problems.
  • Solid experience in post-silicon enablement and bring-up.
  • Experience with developing and releasing low level FW and code
  • Hands on Experience with JTAG based debuggers
  • Able to understand various hardware modules, sub-system and its interfaces.
  • Ability to work with hardware design team to develop plan for debug
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams to drive HW debugs to conclusion.

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.

Pay range:
$92,000.00 - $138,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
