    Job Description

    We are looking for a Project Engineer with the below background.

    Title: Project Engineer II
    Location: Fremont, CA 94538
    Direct Placement

    Summary:
    Participate as an active member of the Customer Focus Team ("CFT'). Responsible for developing a robust process based on customer requirements. Work with other engineering specialties, such as test, Valor, DFM, part substitutions, and end-of-life to coordinate additional requirements.

    Responsibilities:
    • Risk management/FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
    • Process validation. Evaluate and solve problems as they occur.
    • Recommend and implement process improvements.
    • Oversee/monitor operations to assure quality (QMS review for process improvements).
    • Generate proposals regarding the acquisition of process equipment.
    • Participate as an active member of the CFT.
    • Assess and confirm customer documentation and proper load into ERP.
    • Develop and implement production processes - generate MPI documentation.
    • Develop and implement process controls IAW Quality Standards.
    • Develop and implement product MPI (Manufacturing Performance Index)
    • Utilize systemic approach for yield improvement, improve manufacturing and test processes.
    • Integrate ECO (Engineer Change Order) requirements into product/process documents.
    • Provide technical solutions to customers and the manufacturing team.
    • Responsible for ensuring labor standards.
    • Provide quotations for ECO implementation, paid rework, and design revisions.
    • Responsible for interpreting (Design for Manufacturing) DFM/DFA results to the customer and interacting on opportunities and improvements.
    • Coordinate NPI production activities and work with manufacturing for defining the process requirements.
    • Responsible for development of manufacturing tooling, profiles, necessary programs/software for execution in the factory.
    • Work with other engineering specialties such as Test, VALOR DFM, component substitutions, end-of-life to coordinate continued production.
    • Train and perform Quality Management Systems cross-functional internal audits.
    • Comply with all in-house training as identified in job-specific family and or specific training plan.
    • Support all corporate and site 6S initiatives.

    Skills and knowledge
    • Ability to utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
    • Knowledge of IPC-DVD-64C Component Identification.
    • Pass IPC-A-610 Modules 1 & 2 and 3-8.
    • Able to review and understand (Design Manufacturing Analysis -DFM) - and develop processes to mitigate design challenges/issues.
    • SME in process and flow.
    • Broad end-to-end process knowledge.
    • Direction only for novel or controversial problems/issues.
    • Independent decision-making on details of work/process in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
    • Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed projects.
    • Devise new approaches and solutions.
    • Manage and coordinate solutions with conflicting requirements.
    • Analyze and recommend process equipment with justification.
    • Perform independent DFM analysis and redesign recommendations and propose to customers.

    Experience / Education
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Master's Degree preferred.
    • 2-7 years of hands-on experience in the electronics assembly industry.
    • Knowledge of ISO 13485.
