Description
We are looking for an IT SOX Consultant to support audit and compliance efforts for a Contract position based in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role focuses on evaluating IT controls, strengthening audit readiness, and helping the organization maintain effective governance practices. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in information systems auditing and can translate control assessments into practical recommendations for stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments of IT general controls and related processes to identify control gaps and areas of risk.
Develop and maintain audit programs that align testing activities with compliance objectives and control frameworks.
Review evidence, document results, and communicate audit findings with clear recommendations for remediation.
Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate control design and operating effectiveness across key technology environments.
Apply COBIT principles and other relevant standards to support consistent control evaluation practices.
Track remediation efforts and follow up on action plans to help ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
Prepare organized audit workpapers and summaries that support conclusions for compliance and leadership review.
Requirements
Experience performing information systems audits in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
Working knowledge of SOX-related IT control testing, including ITreviews.
Ability to create and execute structured audit programs and document testing results accurately.
Familiarity with COBIT and its application within IT risk and control assessments.
Strong ability to analyze audit findings and present practical, business-focused recommendations.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Audit, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
