Peraton is looking for a seasoned Software Engineer to join our team in Laurel, MD!
The Software Engineer will work, within the Compute Team, with a massively parallel enterprise platform, builtwith Java on Free and Open-Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enableexecution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure on the team. Peraton is seeking a self-motivated Java developer who proactively completes tasks with a strong attention to detail. The candidate must be able towork independently and as part of a team and will be exposed to a variety of technologies depending oncustomer requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
- Twenty (20) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexityis required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university isrequired.
- Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
- Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Java, database technologies (MySQL Postgres etc) and havesome experience with Map Reduce programming model and technologies (such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig,etc)
- Possess additional knowledge of Linux OS development, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g.,Kubernetes)
