    Job Description

    Our client is seeking a contract Sr. Systems Engineer with expertise in kubernetes/containerization to help design and deploy critical internal and external facing applications.

     

    Location: Seattle, WA

    Duration: 15+ months

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Operate in a zero trust environment
    • Design and deploy a container platform on-prem that spans internal and internet facing applications
    • Design a container platform lifecycle management methodology
    • Design and deploy RBAC for infrastructure access
    • Collaborate with vendors and internal staff to improve application code deployment methods
    • Deploy log aggregation and analytics solution using the ELK stack

     

    Desired Experience:

    Networking

    • Experience deploying application services utilizing different load balancing solutions on physical appliances and software based.
    • Experience deploying application services utilizing different firewall solutions on physical appliances and software based
    • Reverse proxy

    Identity Management

    • Experience deploying internet facing applications using OIDC authentication and authorization
    • Experience designing and deploying role based access solutions for infrastructure management

    Monitoring

    • Implementing, operating platform monitoring using host based and service based solutions to include availability, performance, network traffic and error rates
    • Experience implementing log aggregation with a tools such as LogStash
    • Ability to efficiently use various data sources such as log and performance data to proactively identify and mitigate potential operational issues

    Infrastructure Management

    • Experience designing infrastructure deployment methodologies that incorporate platform best practices for security, scalability and resiliency in on-prem or hybrid environments
    • Experience applying cloud native concepts and methods to on-prem and hybrid infrastructure environments
    • Proficient operating in a Linux environment governed by the principle of least privilege
    • Efficient at provisioning infrastructure runtime(s) and application assets with code first approach

    Service Management

    • Experience designing application deployment methodologies that incorporate platform best practices for security, scalability and resiliency
    • Experience leveraging CI/CD workflows to deploy management infrastructure and vendor provided solutions

     

    Compensation: Estimated hourly compensation range for this role is $80 - $125/hour.
