Are you a forward-thinker? An innovator? As a Software Solutions Architect, you will be the technical liaison for our Product Managers, vetting ideas and projects before they hit the ground, and helping decide which technical solutions to implement. This is your opportunity to work with all levels of leadership, business lines and technical resources to identify problems and work with them to design solutions. We are looking for someone who is curious, a critical thinker, able to ask good questions and facilitate conversations, and a history of success architecting technology solutions.

A Software Solutions Architect is the person in charge of leading the design and introducing the overall technical vision for a particular solution. Therefore, they are a key member of a project and necessary to implement a solution while combining guidance from different viewpoints (business, information/data, technical), as well as the target architecture. During the entire process, they will oversee all technological risks and make sure that the described solution proves to be aligned with standards while meeting all necessary business requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Software Delivery to inform and guide the software delivery tools, practices, processes and standards.


  • Define/update/maintain standards, patterns, and best practices for software delivery.


  • Leverage your experience in software development to optimize and mature our current processes, ensuring efficiency and quality.


  • Coach and mentor software development teams.


  • Identify impediments that hinder team progress and productivity, and lead efforts to remedy them.


  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between business and technical teams, development and infrastructure teams as well as leadership ensuring seamless integration as we evolve.


  • Proactively identify and address potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines and deliverables.


  • Collaborate with product owners to refine product backlogs and prioritize requirements, aligning them with team goals.


  • Stay up to date on software development best practices, tools, and standards guiding implementation of them when they are fit for purpose.


  • Work with IT leadership in creating strategic plans and priority setting.


  • Identify of problems in current IT systems and discovers effective solutions.


  • Interact with clients, product managers, and developers to envision, model, and design the software solution.


  • Perform regular code reviews to ensure the design quality and avoid overly complicated structures.


  • Hands-on work on prototype development, code contributions, and technological assessment.


  • Write code with a focus on standards reinforcement rather than building software parts.


  • Work with team to drive improvements to the development process.


  • Oversee successful product delivery with responsibility for technical risks, technical standards, and code quality.


  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages continuous learning and growth, team participation and communication with business and product partners.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear and concise language for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills to influence and gain alignment at all levels of an organization.
  • Enthusiasm for technology and a willingness to learn and monitor new technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience with process transformation in a large organization.
  • Technical competency with multiple databases, multiple development languages, and software tools to support the development process.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent
  • A minimum of 10 years' of systems analysis, applications development and support experience with business applications
  • Proficiency in Sr. Systems Analyst functions
  • Proficient in MS Office, SharePoint and Teams
  • An attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Understanding of SCRUM, Rapid Prototyping and Waterfall development methodologies
  • Proficiency with multiple development technologies such as Java and PHP
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing for relational database applications using SQL, XML and related languages and technologies
  • Experience building secure applications
