Network Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has an enterprise client seeking a Network Engineer IV in Seattle, WA.

Duties:
* Design, build and rollout our global DWDM networks
* Drive scaling designs to meet the demand of our customers
* Create processes that help operate and build our optical network
* Work closely with other Networking teams
* Evaluate new products and drive commercial tender process
* Ensure that the optical network adheres to the defined network standards
* Review and implement changes on the optical systems
* Drive operational excellence projects to drive improvements in our DWDM network quality and reliability
* Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day to day on our network

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience
* 7+ years industry experience
* Experience with DWDM Platforms
* Experience with Router Platforms - Cisco/Juniper
* Optical Network experience
* Experience with optical planning, modelling tools and rollout of large DWDM networks
* Expertise IP networking fundamentals and IP protocols
* In-depth knowledge of and experience with major DWDM platforms (Ciena, Infinera and Cisco)
* In-depth knowledge of and experience with major router platforms (Cisco and Juniper) including compatible supervisory and line cards for these platforms
* In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols; specifically BGP and OSPF
* Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
* Significant past experience with, and expertise in many of the following protocols & technologies: DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET (OC3, OC48), 802.2/3, 802.1d VLANs/STP, IPv4 & IPv6, TCP (internals & flow control), BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC & VPNs, netflow, DNS, HTTP

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
