Job Description
The Corporate Information Security (CIS) organization at Lockheed Martin (LM) protects company assets and systems from cyber threats by developing and implementing a robust security posture, enforcing policies and standards, and providing security awareness training to employees.
Within LM CIS, the Boundary Transformation and Secure Transport team is hiring a mid-career Firewall Administrator / InfoSec Engineer.
What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will provide security engineering designs and implementation in all aspects of Information Assurance and Information Security (InfoSec) Engineering, assessing and mitigating system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle. Your key responsibilities will include the following:
Designing, implementing, and managing firewall rules, policies, and configurations to ensure network security and compliance
Monitoring and analyzing firewall logs to identify potential security threats and troubleshoot issues
Performing regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure firewall configurations are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards
Collaborating with network and security teams to ensure seamless integration of firewalls with other network devices and systems
Developing and maintaining documentation of firewall configurations, policies, and procedures
Providing technical support and training to junior team members and other stakeholders as needed
Staying up-to-date with emerging threats, technologies, and industry trends to continuously improve firewall security and performance
Providing security engineering designs and implementation in all aspects of Information Assurance and Information Security (InfoSec) Engineering
Assessing and mitigating system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle
Validating system security requirements definition and analysis
Establishing system security designs
Implementing security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures
Verifying security requirements
Performing system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities
Supporting secure systems operations and maintenance
Who You Are:
Ideally, you have experience in managing and administering firewalls (particularly with Palo Alto and Juniper firewalls) in an enterprise-level networking environment and in enterprise network administration. You also have a strong understanding of network security, protocols, and architectures, as well as experience with cloud-based technologies and programming languages. Previous experience in routing, firewalls, or SD-WAN and a strong understanding of enterprise level infrastructure and complex network solutions is also desirable.

Basic Qualifications
Firewall administration experience with Palo Alto and/or Juniper firewalls
Experience in enterprise-level networking, with a focus on one or more of the following areas: routing, firewalls, or SD-WAN
Strong understanding of network security protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs
Knowledge of network architectures, including LAN, WAN, and cloud-based networks
Programming skills in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Java
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Eligibility for Secret clearance
Desired skills
Certifications: Palo Alto ACE, Juniper JNCIA, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP
Experience with other firewall vendors, such as Cisco or Check Point

Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git

Familiarity with cloud-based security solutions and technologies, such as AWS and Azure
Experience with automation and orchestration tools, such as Ansible and Python
