Title: Electro Mechanical Lab Technician
Location: Round Lake, Tech 2

Work Schedule: 8:30 - 4:30

Description:

Top 3-5 Must Have Non-negotiable Skills Required:
  • Experience in a lab environment collecting data with mechanical test equipement (torque drivers, tensile testers, micrometers, pressure gauges, etc)
  • Experience with documentation in a quality (manufacturing or laboratory) environment
  • Ability to take detailed measurements & observations, and to convey those items clearly
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 2+ years of recent experience
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with root cause analysis
  • Engineering degree
  • CAD experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for performing a wide variety of research and development laboratory tasks and experiments, including mechanical, electrical and/or system-level evaluations.
  • Will develop and maintain record keeping for experiments performed.
  • Required to make detailed observations of tests, analyze data, and interpret results
  • Will maintain medical device laboratory equipment and inventory level of laboratory supplies.
  • Will document summaries of testing and may write test protocols and reports.
  • May support troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
  • May be assigned routine assembly and testing portions of projects (e.g. product performance and software script testing).
Qualifications:
  • Perform work with minimum supervision and have the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Must have good interpersonal, communication (both written & verbal) and problem solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills such as word processing, data entry, and e-mail.
  • Basic science and math skills. Mechanical or electrical background would be preferred.
  • Strong and detail-oriented documentation skills.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, AA degree is strongly preferred
  • 1+ years experience in an electro-mechanical laboratory environment
  • Basic computer skills
Preferred:
  • B.S. in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Experience with engineering tools and statistical software
  • Ability to understand technical schematics and statistical tools
