About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our team in Decatur, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes, driving efficiency, and implementing cost-saving initiatives at our customer's facility. This is a key position supporting high-impact production and quality efforts.
Responsibilities
* Analyze production schedules, specifications, and orders to assess manufacturing methods and activities
* Design and optimize production processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency
* Develop and implement quality control strategies to enhance product reliability and lower costs
* Collaborate with management and stakeholders to establish and maintain production and design standards
* Lead the specification and selection of tooling and equipment for product launches
* Optimize work center and factory layouts for better line balancing and manpower utilization
* Review engineering documentation to ensure alignment with design for manufacturability (DFM) principles
* Develop standard labor time data and recommend design changes to reduce costs and improve quality
* Support cost-saving initiatives and contribute to New Product Development (NPD) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Qualifications
* U.S. Citizenship and ITAR compliance required due to the nature of the work
* Bachelor's or Masters degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering
* Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
* Preferred experience in automotive and vehicle production assembly
* Demonstrated leadership in project management and cross-functional collaboration
* Skilled with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma)
