Job title: Linux Analyst
Location: Nashville, TN (Onsite)
Duration: 6 to 12 Months
Job Description:
The position is responsible for installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, and support of remotely distributed Linux based store POS systems. Additional responsibilities include assisting the store support helpdesk personnel in troubleshooting issues with the Linux store systems and providing quality assurance testing on Point of Sale software patches and upgrades.
Setup and maintain store systems (Linux OS).
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues working in Linux
Provide computer/network support relating to software and hardware on Linux systems.
Write, test, and implement shell scripts to automate and simplify the support of the 2800 remote Linux store systems.
Provide analysis and reporting of Oracle data using SQL.
Maintain a high level of Linux store systems knowledge and associated application software to provide high levels of support.
Support java applications running on Linux systems
Job Requirements:
Need an understanding of retail
3+ years of experience with Linux in an enterprise environment (Redhat based preferred)
Working experience bash shell script and python script development
Working experience with SQL, XML, Web Services.
Understanding of basic networking in Linux
Ability to prioritize and provide timely resolution to issues and requests.
Self-motivated and the ability to work unsupervised.
Must be well-organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as a member of a team.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Must be a quick study with strong comprehension skills for unique applications and environments.
Jira/Confluence experience is a plus
