#1795 Senior Sales Tax / Indirect Tax Analyst Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Sales Tax/Indirect Tax Analyst to join their Finance Team. As a Senior Sales Tax/Indirect Tax Analyst, you will support the compliance and audit activities for Sales & Use Tax mainly associated with the auto leasing business. Additionally, you will assist with resolving tax issues related to the origination of auto leases, manage and prepare unclaimed property reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the monthly compliance process of collecting, reporting, and remitting state, and local sales tax returns associated with auto leasing business.
  • Assist with resolving tax issues with auto dealerships when originating leases.
  • Develop, and maintain an efficient process for sales & use tax compliance.
  • Manage communication with external auditors and assist with managing the audits process.
  • Research sales & use tax laws, regulations, and court cases.
  • Assist with the identification, research, and implementation of tax savings/refund opportunities.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of transaction tax general ledger accounts.
  • Support and maintain the Indirect Tax email inbox.
  • Validate exemption certificates from customers and supply exemptions certificates to vendors.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 minimum experience in Sales Tax.
  • 3-5 years minimum tax audit and/or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • Display strong effective analytical skills and reasoning.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Effective written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Projects a teamwork spirit while balancing individual responsibilities.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines, including the ability to coordinate and balance numerous tasks in a time-sensitive fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify issues and generate creative solutions.
  • Preferred
    • Experience within the financial services industry in either a Fortune 500 company or a national/ regional public accounting firm.
    • Experience in captive auto leasing or leasing platforms/environment is strongly preferred
