Detailed Job Description:

The Powertrain Calibration Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating End-of-Line (EOL) calibration for Powertrain control modules. The role involves fine-tuning calibration parameters, performing vehicle testing, diagnosing system performance, and ensuring compliance with emission and OBD requirements. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimized engine performance and drive continuous improvement in calibration processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop EOL calibration for assigned Powertrain modules.
  • Perform EOL vehicle testing and fine-tune calibration parameters as needed.
  • Develop and execute automated EOL test scripts for validation and verification.
  • Utilize OEM-specific diagnostic tools to validate OBD and Powertrain control features.
  • Conduct data acquisition, analysis, and reporting to support calibration development.
  • Develop prototype models to address validation issues through structured root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on Powertrain design, emissions development, and system integration.
  • Ensure compliance with OBD, emission standards, and calibration quality processes.
  • Optimize calibration processes using DoE (Design of Experiments) and advanced optimization techniques.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 5 8 years of hands-on experience in Powertrain Engine Controls Development and Calibration.
  • Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines (ICE) and related control systems.
  • Proficient in MATLAB / Simulink and INCA for data acquisition, modeling, and calibration.
  • Experience with EOL testing, OBD validation, and OEM diagnostic tools.
  • Strong understanding of UDS diagnostic protocols, CAN, and LIN communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of emission control systems, engine technologies, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Familiarity with DoE and optimization techniques for calibration efficiency.
