Job Description: SAP MM Consultant (Pharma Domain Expertise)
Position: SAP MM Consultant
Domain: Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences
Location: New Jersey
Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SAP MM Consultant with strong Pharma domain expertise to support end-to-end materials management processes, GMP compliance, procurement operations, and integration with supply chain systems. The ideal candidate should have experience working in regulated environments and supporting SAP implementations or support projects within pharma manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional Responsibilities
Lead and support SAP MM configuration, customization, and enhancements aligned with pharma business processes.
Manage Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes including procurement, inventory management, material master, vendor management, goods receipts, and invoice verification.
Ensure full compliance with GxP, GMP, FDA, and other pharma regulatory requirements in all SAP MM processes.
Work closely with Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless SAP integration and data flow.
Manage batch management, serial number tracking, and handling units as per pharma standards.
Support validation documentation including URS, FRS, DS, IQ, OQ, and PQ for SAP system changes.
Collaborate with cross-functional SAP teams (FI, SD, PP, WM/EWM, QM) for integration testing and process alignment.
Analyze business requirements, prepare functional specs, and coordinate with technical teams for developments (RICEFW).
Perform system testing, UAT support, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
Provide L2/L3 production support, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous process improvement.
Required Skills & Experience:
Technical/Functional Skills
Strong hands-on experience in SAP MM configuration (Purchasing, Inventory Management, LIV, Material Master, Automatic Account Determination).
In-depth understanding of Pharma-specific processes:
GMP-compliant procurement
Batch management
Quality inspection integration
Cold chain & controlled substance handling (if applicable)
Shelf-life and expiry management
Sampling & stability materials handling
Good knowledge of integration with SAP SD, FI, PP, QM, and WM/EWM.
