Senior Engineer, Innovation

At Delta Air Lines, we are continually looking to embrace new technologies and improve the customer experience. To further this objective, we are seeking a Mobile App Engineer to join The Hangar, our innovation arm. At The Hangar, we work on initiatives across the entire business-initiatives range from our complex global operation to the digital booking experience. We're looking for someone who is passionate about developing solutions for real-world, large-scale problems.

What would you do?

• Work with a team of engineers and cross-divisionally with our partners to build mobile solutions for iOS and Android.
• Build edge AI experiences with hardware and software components
• Collaborate on building MR/VR and AR solutions on VisionOS
• Deliver against the long-term vision for the Delta Air Line customer experience and the broader strategy for innovation
• Build mobile apps based on UX process and collaborate with design teams
• Work as part of Scrum/Agile pod

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
• 7+ Years of Swift, Kotlin or other mobile development language but must be willing to work in Swift/iOS and Kotlin
• Experience in MR/VR and AR technologies
• Reinforcement Learning, Recommendation Systems, Audio Processing and GenAI
• Knowledge of working in AWS/Azure is required.
• A good understanding of Agile Methodology is required.
• Must have the ability to work well with others in a time sensitive and team environment with minimal supervision, be results oriented and capable of meeting deadlines with attention to detail and follow through
• Experienced with visual design tools such as Figma
• Experience and familiarity presenting to technical audiences
• Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
• Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
• Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
• Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency with languages such as Python, Java.
• Familiarity with building and integrating with GenAI and ML models
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React.
• Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
