Comtech LLC is seeking an experienced Integration & DevOps Engineer to support Florida State
University s Information Technology Services (ITS) in designing, implementing, and maintaining
middleware and integration solutions across complex enterprise environments. The engineer will be
responsible for managing integrations leveraging IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), Oracle Unified
Directory (OUD), CAS/SSO, and Duo MFA components.
This role involves designing robust, secure integration architectures, maintaining continuous deployment
pipelines, and ensuring high system availability and authentication reliability. The engineer will collaborate
closely with application, security, and infrastructure teams to streamline deployment workflows and
ensure seamless interoperability between campus systems and cloud services.
The Integration & DevOps Engineer will be responsible for tasks including but not limited to:
Design, build, and maintain middleware integrations using IBM App Connect Enterprise
(ACE) to support PeopleSoft, OnBase, and other enterprise systems.
Administer and support Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) for identity management,
synchronization, and secure directory operations.
Integrate and manage CAS/SSO and Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to provide
secure single sign-on experiences across university applications.
Troubleshoot complex integration and authentication issues across middleware,
application, and network layers.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, version control, and deployment automation for
integration components.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure scalable, fault-tolerant
middleware architecture.
Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and log analysis to identify and resolve
bottlenecks.
Ensure compliance with ITIL-based change management, security policies, and FSU ITS
governance standards.
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, SOPs, and architectural
diagrams.
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
activities.
5. Expertise and/or Relevant Experience:
Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are mandatory:
M1 Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
M2 7+ years of experience in middleware integration, DevOps, or systems engineering roles.
M3 Hands-on experience with:
IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) message flows, integration nodes,
deployment, and troubleshooting.
Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) directory services, replication, and schema
management.
CAS/SSO single sign-on implementation and customization.
Duo MFA integration with enterprise identity providers and authentication
systems.
M4 Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, Ansible, or equivalent DevOps tools.
M5 Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, scripting (Bash/Python), and system
administration.
M6 Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot middleware connectivity, authentication, and
performance issues.
M7 Familiarity with network protocols, SSL/TLS, and API security..
M8 Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are desirable but not mandatory:
D1 Experience integrating with PeopleSoft, OBIEE, OnBase, and GoldenGate environments.
D2 Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (IaC)
concepts.
D3 Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or AWS hosting environments.
D4 ITIL v4, DevOps Foundation, or IBM Integration Bus (IIB/ACE) certification preferred.
D5 Experience in higher-education or public-sector enterprise environments.
D6 Strong skills in documentation, automation, and cross-team collaboration.
