Job Description:
Our client is looking to hire a Redhat Linux Admin for their junior level opening.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in IT, computer science, engineering, or another relevant field or equivalent experience
Associates Degree and 2 years of experience, OR 5 years of experience in lieu of an Associates degree
Display commensurate knowledge consistent with a RedHat Certified System Administrator and RedHat Certified Systems Engineer
Intermediate understanding with RedHat/CentOS 7/8 administration
Established knowledge and experience with networking including LDAP based authentication systems and other core infrastructure essentials.
Experience with problem/incident management.
Intermediate Scripting Experience in a modern scripting friendly language (bash, python, perl, ruby)
Intermediate Familiarity with a modern container technology preferred (Docker, Singularity, Podman, libvirt, OpenShift, etc.)
Layer 2 Switch Networking with VLANS management
Intermediate Configuration management via any modern standard system preferred (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
Intermediate knowledge Virtualization/Hypervisor experience preferred (VMware or equivalent)
Preferred understanding with monitoring environments such as Nagios, Zabbix, Sensu, Prometheus
High level of proficiency in troubleshooting Linux performance issues.
Position requires ship or US Permanent Residency Status and the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance as well as 3 years of current and consecutive US residence.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working at the CDC or other federal government agencies preferred.
3 years of exp as linux sys admin with degree
5 years of exp with no degree
RHCSA certification is preferred
Experience with Redhat centOS 7 and 8
Experience with basic proficiency in linux problems
