Description: Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Drafter
Job Title: Mechanical Engineer / Drafter

Job Type: Contract
About the Role
We are hiring for three newly created positions at our Texas site, which supports both Research & Development (R&D) and manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and support of products including Intelli blade (microwave ablation) and cryotherapy systems for cancer treatment.
This is a hands-on role requiring on-site presence. Remote work is not standard.
Responsibilities
Prepare layouts, drawings, and designs according to engineering specifications using SOLIDWORKS and other CAD tools.
Perform engineering design calculations and create CAD design layouts and detail drawings, including PCB layouts.
Review engineering drawings and supporting documents for adherence to drafting standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project information and communicate findings effectively.
Design and produce 3D printed fixtures for manufacturing and testing.
Retrieve and display information using appropriate computer languages.
Verify completeness, clarity, and accuracy of final drawings.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems using procedural knowledge.
Manage a broad scope of tasks and accountabilities within the functional area.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in drafting or STEM field.
Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, and tooling design.
Experience with revision control and drawing standards.
Hands-on experience in lab environments, including prototyping and part fabrication.
Training in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Experience with PDM system administration (SolidWorks, Windchill, PTC Creo).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
4+ years of experience in mechanical design industries (e.g., aerospace, defense).
Familiarity with medical device design control and industry standards.
Strong drafting skills for junior to mid-level engineers.
