RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Kforce client is seeking to hire a Software Engineering Manager in Tempe, Arizona (AZ).
Summary:
We are working directly with the hiring manager on this search assignment. This company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, annual bonus, 401K matching, stock/RSU's, etc. They are seeking a qualified individual to lead our Software development team of 5-10 individuals, local/remote). The position directly reports to head of Director Software Engineering. In this role, the Software Manager will manage software development and test development for all Business Units products.
Responsibilities include:
* Collaborate with other Directors of Software Engineering globally to establish software strategy
* The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for strengthening the team both in terms of resource capacity and capability; Focus on capability development by cross train team member
* Drive the team to meet key project delivery deadlines while ensuring coding is effective, accurate, and efficient within established platforms
* Teams will be working on both development of new software as well as working to enhance or redesign prior software
* The Software Engineering Manager will work closely with key stakeholders to collaborate on software that affects the effectiveness of the equipment we manufacture
* Work closely with global software team to align efforts to collaborate on effective solutions for developer issues
* Provide mentoring and guidance to team for development and onboarding
* Work on effectively resolving customer escalations
REQUIREMENTS:
* BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
* 8-12+ years of experience in software development
* 3-5+ years of experience in leadership capacity
* Ability to drive performance of a team to meet deadline
* C, C++ programing skills with strong demonstrated proficiency at key software developer concepts
* Experience at the embedded level and application level is preferred
* Experience with Perl, Python are plusses
* Experience with various RTOS would be preferred
* Strong collaboration skills both within the team and with key business stakeholders
* Proven ability to provide leadership in all phases of software development cycle
* Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
* Proven experience in team building and people development
* Strong ownership for tasks at hand, pro-active leadership, customer (both internal and external) oriented
* Experience in a highly regulated industry such as Semiconductor, Aerospace, Medical Device, etc.
* Experience at the embedded level and/or application level would be ideal
* Experience with scrum/agile software development methodology is preferred
* Experience in manufacturing and/or capital equipment manufacturing is a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
