Job Role: System Support Consultant

Location: Salt Lake City ,UT

Duration- Long Term Contract

Position Summary:

The Project Central System Support Consultant will provide ongoing technical support, system monitoring, and workflow management services for the Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities (SLCDPU). This individual will act as a critical liaison between SLCDPU, the City s Information Management Systems (IMS) team, and end users. The consultant will support system integrity, address user issues, and ensure that the system remains functional, accurate, and in compliance with city IT standards.

Key Responsibilities:

User Support:

  • Respond to user requests, as dispositioned by the SLCDPU Point of Contact (POC), within two (2) business days.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve:
    • User login/access issues
    • Workflow corrections, deletions, or adjustments
    • Clarifications or re training on system processes
    • Staff role updates due to absences
    • Data retrieval requests for ad-hoc Excel-based reporting
    • New view creation or adjustments to existing views

System Monitoring:

  • Routinely monitor the system to:
    • Detect and resolve issues caused by human error
    • Identify and troubleshoot automated workflow or functionality problems

System Coordination:

  • Coordinate regularly with SLCDPU POC to prioritize and address support issues.
  • Collaborate with City IMS to ensure system compliance with IT policies and compatibility with citywide upgrades.
  • Resolve any technical problems that arise from system updates or infrastructure changes.

System Additions and Adjustments (As Needed):

  • Implement system improvements including:
    • Updates to workflow process steps or user roles
    • Creation of new automated workflows
    • Modifications to site permissions
    • Edits or creation of automated reports

Note: Additional services may be added annually via contract amendment.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience with SharePoint-based systems or workflow management platforms
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize competing requests

Preferred:

  • Experience working in government or public sector environments
  • Familiarity with municipal IT compliance requirements
  • Project Management or ITIL Foundation certification
