As the Data Platform Administrator, you are accountable to maintain and administer the data governance, data management and analytics platforms. Your responsibilities include the design and configuration of the suites of applications and tools that enable to be data driven. You are highly skilled in troubleshooting issues end to end in collaboration with network engineering, cloud infrastructure, database administrators, enterprise architects, and engineering teams. At the core of your responsibilities is ensuring that all data governance, data management and analytics platforms run with optimal performance and security.
As Data Platform Administrator, you are a key contributor in a high-performing centralized team of data engineers, data analysts, QA engineers, and data architects. You enable the enterprise to maximize the use of licensed platforms such as Informatica, Azure Cloud Data Services, PowerBI, Tableau and other industry leading platforms. You have an excellent ability to solve problems using your in-depth understanding of how these platforms interact with networks, other systems, and cloud services.
The ideal candidate has strong technical experience, employs systems thinking, is outcome-focused, and fosters teamwork.
Essential Functions:
- Administer various Azure data services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, etc. This includes provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and optimization of these services
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect data assets, including role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
- Monitor the performance of Azure data services, identify bottlenecks, and optimize configurations to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity in case of system failures or disasters.
- Manage data integration pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, or other relevant tools to ensure seamless data flow across different systems and services.
- Set up monitoring tools and alerts to proactively identify and address issues related to data availability, performance, and security.
- Forecast resource requirements, scale Azure data services as needed, and optimize costs to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Maintain documentation of data architectures, configurations, and processes. Provide training and support to other team members or stakeholders as needed.
- Respond to and resolve data-related incidents, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, data scientists, developers, and business stakeholders. Communicate effectively to understand requirements and convey technical information.
- As an IDMC administrator, Implement data governance policies and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
- Oversee initiatives to monitor and improve the quality of data across the organization, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation processes.
- Establish and maintain metadata repositories to catalog and manage information about data assets, including definitions, lineage, and usage.
- Manage change related to data governance initiatives, including communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data governance and management processes. Prepare and distribute reports to stakeholders to communicate progress and identify areas for improvement.

- Experience in performance tuning
- Ensure the platforms are operationally sound with proper back up procedures, alerts, and service monitoring in Informatica
- Diagnose and drive resolution, in partnership with domain experts, to hardware, software, networking, and system issues impacting our data platforms
- Research and recommend new approaches to improve the data platforms
- Document any processes required to successfully work within our data platforms
