Description

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Operations IV specialist to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to the security and operational integrity of critical systems and networks. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise, strategic guidance, and leadership in safeguarding against cyber threats.

Location: Washington, DC (On-site, 5 days per week)

Start Date: January 12, 2026

Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)

Clearance Required: Public Trust (Candidates with current DOJ Public Trust preferred)

Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Information Security Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will implement and maintain security measures, monitor threats, and ensure compliance with federal frameworks and regulations. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker with strong technical expertise and a passion for safeguarding systems and data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, detect, and respond to security threats and incidents.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure timely security updates across all systems.
  • Implement and manage security tools (e.g., SIEM, endpoint protection).
  • Monitor compliance with security standards such as NIST RMF.
  • Collaborate with IT and Engineering teams to embed security in infrastructure and applications.
  • Investigate security breaches and document findings.
  • Participate in security awareness training.
  • Stay current with emerging threats and technologies.


Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity roles.
  • Strong understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud security (AWS/Azure).
  • Experience with tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, Nessus, BigFix, Wireshark.
  • Knowledge of incident response processes and security frameworks (NIST, ISO, HIPAA).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Security+).
  • DOJ Public Trust clearance.
