Job Purpose


The Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer (AI) will develop solutions using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cognitive computing technologies and other related digital analytics technologies. The Artificial Intelligence Engineer will work with business partners to translate business analytic problems into cognitive computing technologies to solve business problems with actionable recommendations. This position also works with different groups to help create alignment on various analytics initiatives. Provides technical guidance and coordinates work of more junior level JET associates.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Researches, develops and maintains deep learning, machine learning, statistical processes, simulations, complex event processing, linear programming, and natural language processing capabilities for meeting business requirements.

  • Partners with lines of business to translate business analytic problems into technical solutions and actionable recommendations across the organization.

  • Researches, develops and maintains processes and technologies modeling, cognitive computing and digital analytics technologies.

  • Manages cognitive computing and digital analytics development and production infrastructure.

  • Keeps abreast of latest cognitive computing research and trends aligned with business needs including patterns and anomalies detection from machine vision, speech, text, images and other structured/unstructured data sets within the enterprise and its digital ecosystem.

  • Assists in the creation of alignment and the development of project requirements.

  • Leads complex analytical projects and initiatives.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning, AI, modeling and statistical analysis tools.

  • Experience in deploying AI and Machine Learning based models to deliver realize capabilities including speech to text conversions, image to text conversions, text to speech conversions, language translations, speech recognition, facial recognition, and chat bots etc. required for delivering cognitive business solutions.

  • Experience in using simulations, synthetic data sets for training AI/ML models.

  • Experience in developing and deploying Linear Programming and other quantitative tools for optimizing business process outcomes.

  • Fluency in programming skills such as Python, R, or other equivalent languages.

  • Strong Background in basic machine learning techniques including supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement and deep learning.

  • Experience in major machine learning frameworks: Pytorch, Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow, Panda, and SparkML.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work.

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated reports to management and other IT development partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment to achieve desired results.

  • Strong communication skills to convey complex and technical information both orally and in writing.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with Jackson senior leadership, co-workers, and the broader public and to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve results against competing priorities.

  • Strong project management skills; ability to successfully manage multiple highly complex projects with aggressive deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions when faced with less than ideal data management or model development conditions.

  • Demonstrated formal education and experience in applying statistical or modeling algorithms for design and scientific experiments.

  • Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership for team members.

  • Advanced presentation skills.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems or equivalent field experience required.

  • Master's Degree in mathematics or any comparable quantitative field preferred.

  • Formal education in vector algebra, calculus, time-series and statistical modeling preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in applying quantitative sciences using programming languages such as Python or a similar object-oriented language for creating business value required.

  • 1+ years of experience in the AI Engineering field delivering business capabilities required.
