Description
We are looking for a skilled IBM iSeries Administrator to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. In this Contract to permanent position, you will manage and maintain the AS400 systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual capable of handling system administration, database queries, and troubleshooting tasks while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain AS400 systems, including hardware, operating systems, and software components.
Monitor system performance and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and resolve bottlenecks.
Manage system backups, disaster recovery plans, and operating system upgrades.
Configure and maintain user profiles, security settings, and access controls.
Create, execute, and optimize database queries in DB2 for i to support reporting and data access requirements.
Troubleshoot and provide support for CL programs and batch jobs.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data integrity and consistent system availability.
Document system configurations, processes, and change management activities.
Enforce compliance with IT policies and data protection regulations.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience administering AS400 systems.
Expertise in DB2 for i, including query writing and optimization.
Proficiency in CL programming and system-level tasks.
Skilled in performance monitoring, system tuning, and troubleshooting.
Experience managing user access, security settings, and system backups.
Strong analytical abilities and effective communication skills.
Proven ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
Familiarity with structured or regulated IT environments is a plus.
