Python Developer (with AWS)
Location: Plano, TX (hybrid 3 days onsite and 2 days remote)

Candidates currently local preferred; open to relocation candidates as a secondary option

They are migrating Github into the cloud
Build migration tool, scripts and integrating
Migration tool functionality, move other development teams to this environment

A lot of integrations
Some tooling written in Node/Golang/Python - would say Golang and Python are most important. Node for github enterprise migration tooling is built in Node. Migrating from one pipeline originally developed in groovy and convert to github actions.
Experience with python and golang, python is more of the need. Some api s in golang
AWS development and deployment as well, strong AWS is required
Must haves:
-5+ years experience in Python and Golang Development
-*The ideal split is 5+ years python and 2-3+ years golang*
-AWS Experience (will be working on S3 buckets. lambdas, security groups, basic AWS work)
-Have a consultant mindset and be less of an order taker. It is such a large project that this person needs to be independent and not wait around to be told what to do
Nice to have:
MySQL experience
UI experience (there is a UI component that comes in for a small portion of this project)

Build elegant and scalable capabilities using Python and Golang for our software delivery platforms, with a strong focus on the developer experience, engineering excellence and software craftsmanship.
Automate routine or repetitive tasks with high-quality and well-tested scripts/tooling.
Practice a You Build It, You Own It philosophy, while demonstrating empathy for other software engineers and offering solutions when issues occur in our tools (i.e. troubleshooting failed builds, diagnosing issues in Dev, QA or Prod environments).

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent Military experience.
Professional experience as a software developer, using test-driven development to write your code using Python, Golang and building it using a CI/CD pipeline with maintainability and extensibility in mind.
Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform or CloudFormation) to build multi-tier infrastructure stacks in the Cloud.
Experience working with build tools and container runtimes (Jenkins, Docker).
Experience with one or more additional components in the full stack of an application, such as diagnosing networking issues for distributed systems in the cloud, application performance monitoring, or advanced knowledge of various utilities for Linux troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience using Python and Golang for API development that automate manual tasks or increase the productivity of other product teams at an enterprise scale.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 5 years combined experience in Python and Golang.
Familiarity with AWS, including professional experience building, configuring and deploying mission-critical applications using EC2, RDS, S3, ECS, and Lambda with resiliency and scalability in mind.
Familiarity with database design and programming, including relational modeling, index definition, and SQL.
Experience working in an Agile environment managing your own workload and tasks effectively through JIRA
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
