Overview:

A leading company in the insurance industry is undergoing a large-scale data center migration, transitioning from an existing data center to a new production site, with Disaster Recovery (DR) provisioned in a separate location. This migration includes moving thousands of virtual machines (VMs) and applications while shifting from a flat network to a segmented one to enhance security and operational efficiency.

To support this initiative, we are seeking VM Migration Specialists with experience using the Zerto Migration Tool to assist with Windows and Linux instance migrations. The ideal candidates will provide Level 1 and Level 2 support, adhere to pre-existing runbooks, and have basic scripting knowledge to optimize the migration process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with VM migrations using the Zerto Migration Tool.
  • Migrate Windows and Linux instances, ensuring seamless transitions with minimal disruptions.
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support during migration activities.
  • Follow pre-existing runbooks and document migration progress.
  • Support daytime development (Dev) migrations and night/weekend production (Prod) migrations as per schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and consultants to ensure application dependencies and security rules are maintained in the new data centers.
  • Troubleshoot migration issues and implement solutions in real-time.
  • Work closely with IT stakeholders to align migration activities with project deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with VM migrations, particularly using the Zerto Migration Tool.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux environments and their migration implications.
  • Level 1 and Level 2 IT support experience in a data center migration setting.
  • Ability to follow predefined runbooks and work within structured processes.
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Availability for night/weekend work for production migrations.
  • Experience with network segmentation and security rules is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with large-scale data center migrations.
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking and security policies in a segmented network.
  • Experience working in financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
