Description
We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network solutions for diverse environments, including data centers, educational institutions, and enterprise settings. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Cisco technologies, routing protocols, and network security, and will be committed to delivering high-quality technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and resolve complex network issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Implement and manage Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and security hardware across various platforms.
Design and maintain scalable network solutions for environments such as data centers, educational institutions, and enterprises.
Configure and troubleshoot advanced IP routing protocols, including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
Deploy and manage firewall systems, including Cisco ASA and Firepower, ensuring robust network security.
Utilize Cisco Meraki and other network management tools to monitor and enhance network operations.
Apply Quality of Service (QoS) principles at Layer 2 and Layer 3 to optimize data traffic.
Integrate advanced solutions such as Cisco ISE and Prime to enhance network functionality.
Lead complex migration projects to transition legacy network systems to modern standards.
Document technical processes and network configurations using precise tools such as Visio.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in networking technologies.
Cisco certification at a detail-oriented level (or willingness to obtain within a reasonable timeframe); advanced certifications are preferred.
Strong knowledge of wireless technologies, with experience in configuration and troubleshooting across platforms like Cisco and Meraki.
Proficiency in IP routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
Expertise in firewall solutions, including Cisco ASA and Palo Alto.
Ability to create detailed technical documentation and diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
Familiarity with network management and reporting systems.
Must successfully pass all background screenings required for secured customer environments.
