A client company of ours is looking for a motivated full-time Data Engineer to provide an impact that will help feed millions here in the US! The company is a world leader in sourcing, processing and supplying oilseed and grain products and ingredients. You should have a deep understanding of data architecture, data engineering, data analysis, reporting, and a basic understanding of data science techniques and workflows. Some standard technology competencies include: Python or Scala, Cloud (AWS), and Flink or Beam.

This position is hybrid with a great balance of remote/in-office work schedule.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of experience
  • SQL
  • Python (or Scala)
  • Hadoop or BigQuery
  • NoSQL
  • Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Shiny
  • Machine learning, Data Science, computer vision, Artificial Intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics
  • Working with an Agile product team
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering centric degree preferred
  • 7+ preferred experience working in data engineering or architecture (5 years preferred for junior role)
  • AWS
  • Hive, Impala, Spark and familiarity with Kafka
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system
  • St. Louis area candidates preferred but open to all candidates willing to travel

Daily Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals
  • Create data products for analytics and data scientist team members to improve their productivity
  • Advise, consult, mentor and coach other data and analytic professionals on data standards and practices
  • Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions
  • Lead the evaluation, implementation and deployment of emerging tools and process for analytic data engineering in order to improve the organization's productivity as a team
  • Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects and initiatives.
The Offer
  • $145,000 depending on experience
  • Must be open to relocation and/or travel
  • Bonus eligible
