Job Description
The Technical Lead on the Data Center Operations team is responsible for managing vendor relationships as it relates to the core data center infrastructure and application landscape. This resource will take ownership and act as a liaison between vendors and application/infrastructure teams in an effort to hold vendors accountable. This person should have experience with Azure cloud and have experience coordinating with vendors during cloud migrations - vendors specifically with cloud technology solutions!
You can expect to interface with data center operations, manage budgets, implement processes and procedures as it relates to vendor strategy and data center operations. This person will provide technical insight as it relates to IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and manage vendors that oversee cloud technologies and coding - must have a strong understanding of IT architecture in order to communicate effectively between IT teams and vendors.
This role will require a hybrid onsite presence (2 days onsite).
Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between technical experts and vendors to drive solutions
- Hold vendors accountable for following procedures
- A proven track record of successfully negotiating Service Agreements for a corporate scale Data Center
- Oversee business partner relationships, operations and deployments
- Collaborate with stakeholders and 3rd party vendors to ensure project and programs are completed successfully by resolving complex business issues
- Responsible for reviewing of SOW documentation
- Track project progress and evaluate risks, opportunities and escalations of issues to management and stakeholders
- Implement data center policies and Disaster Recovery Plan
- Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Must have experience with Azure cloud
- Must have at least 5 years of technical data center and engineering experience.
- Must have at least 5 years of Vendor Management experience (including cloud based vendors)
- Experience negotiating contracts, overseeing SOWs, and change management
- Experience in any IaC tools including infrastructure-as-code tools include AWS CloudFormation, Red Hat Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack and HashiCorp Terraform.
- Must have experience with data center operations, server landscapes, database management, and cloud migrations (Azure)
- SAP experience is preferred
- ITIL certification is a HUGE plus!
