Network Administrator Senior (Network)

Knowledge of:
Advanced network architecture, design, and integration principles across enterprise and
hybrid environments.
Cisco and Palo Alto enterprise platforms, including advanced routing (EIGRP, OSPF,
BGP), firewall policies, and security zones, IPsec, DNS, DHCP, NAT, Panorama,
GlobalProtect, threat prevention, and SSL decryption.
Cradlepoint and cellular networking technologies, including LTE/5G WAN failover and
remote site connectivity strategies.
Familiarity with NAC, load balancing (F5, Azure App Gateway), and SD-WAN solutions.
Voice and unified communications protocols including UDP, RTP, RTCP, and QoS
implementation.
Network performance monitoring, diagnostics, and capacity planning tools (e.g., NetFlow,
SNMP, SolarWinds, Wireshark).
Data center networking concepts including high-availability design, virtualization, and
interconnects.
Fiber and carrier Ethernet technologies, including provisioning, vendor coordination, and
SLA management.
Distributed computing environments and their impact on network performance and
security.
Operating system commands and utilities for advanced network diagnostics and automation
(e.g., CLI, Linux, PowerShell).
Skill in:
Leading the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise network
infrastructure across data centers and remote locations.
Architecting secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions using Cisco, Palo Alto, and
Cradlepoint technologies.
Troubleshooting complex, multi-layered network issues and performing root cause analysis.
Managing and optimizing remote access solutions (VPN, IPSec, SD-WAN) for distributed
workforces.
Using database and network management tools for configuration auditing, performance
tracking, and reporting.
Driving structured change management processes and ensuring compliance with enterprise
standards.
Testing and validating network hardware/software for new deployments, upgrades, and
security enhancements.
Developing scripts or tools to automate network monitoring, configuration, and
performance tracking.
Ability to:
Set strategic priorities and lead initiatives to ensure objectives are met on time and within
budget.
Make sound decisions in ambiguous or high-pressure situations with limited information.
Apply creativity and innovation to solve complex network challenges and improve
infrastructure efficiency.
Rapidly learn and apply new technologies, protocols, and tools in a dynamic environment.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and crossfunctional teams.
Provide tier-3 support and mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership within the
team.
Acquire and maintain deep knowledge of JEA s business operations and Technology
Services products.
Stay current with emerging networking trends, tools, and security practices through
continuous learning.
Identify and communicate critical issues clearly and proactively to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with clarity and professionalism.
Demonstrate accountability and follow through on commitments to ensure successful
outcome.
