Job Title: Jr. Computer Operations Analyst – Shift A
Location: Onsite – Macon, GA
Job Type: Very Long-Term Contract (Work as long as you want)
Shift: Shift A (Initially 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Mon–Fri, Sun–Thu, or Tue–Sat; final schedule TBD)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Jr. Computer Operations Analyst to join our team onsite in Macon, GA. This is a long-term opportunity with stability and growth potential, supporting a high-availability data center environment.
In this role, you will monitor and administer production servers, applications, network devices, and system infrastructure. You will serve as a frontline operations analyst, focusing on incident detection, system health, and escalation processes. The position blends responsibilities from both computer operations and incident analysis. You’ll work closely with engineers and support teams to respond to alerts, resolve or escalate issues, and ensure uninterrupted operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory.
Understanding of basic Linux/Unix commands.
Basic knowledge of networking and troubleshooting.
Experience with system and network monitoring tools.
Familiarity with incident management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Good foundation in IT operations best practices.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to provide excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor systems, network devices, and applications in a 24x7 data center environment.
Perform proactive problem analysis, systems health checks, and incident triage.
Provide basic troubleshooting for Windows, email delivery, and network-related issues.
Input and manage incidents through the ServiceNow ticketing system.
Escalate issues to appropriate technical teams and follow up as needed.
Administer server OS and physical/virtual hardware resources.
Use network monitoring tools to detect and test performance and outages.
Coordinate with engineers to respond to monitoring alerts and client-reported issues.
Conduct server maintenance and assist in maintaining system reliability.
Contact clients and internal teams during incident or alert events.
Support weekend or off-hours operations as needed.
Maintain client security protocols and confidentiality of information.
Manage and communicate outages between internal teams and external partners.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Typically Required:
1+ years of experience in a managed IT environment or similar support/operations role.
Typically Preferred:
Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Technical certifications such as MCSE, MCP, A+, ITIL, or similar are a plus.
