Description

Position Purpose :

Under general supervision, analyze systems specifications and develop applications to support data exchange and interoperability initiatives within the Data Exchange Platform team. Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement solutions that enable secure, efficient sharing of clinical and administrative data across platforms. Assist with development of program specifications aligned to healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR). Design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain applications that integrate with enterprise systems and external partners. Participate in research and fact-finding to develop and/or modify information systems, ensuring compliance with data governance and security protocols.

Location:

This position is full-time in a typical office setting and could potentially operate on a Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office 2 days W@H ) in Columbia, SC. Please note this is subject to change based on employee performance and/or business need.

What You'll Do :

• Work closely with analysts and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Confer with user representatives to gain an understanding of necessary changes to system.
• Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems, and devise computer programs, systems and related procedures to process data. Evaluate interrelationships in immediate programming area to determine how changes in one program will affect another related area.
• Maintain and modify programs according to specifications. Design, code, implement, maintain and support application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Make recommendations toward the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
• Assist in the analysis of production system problems and in recommending workable solutions. Assist in component and data architecture design, and performance monitoring.
• Test modified programs, verify logic, perform any necessary "debugging", and write the documentation.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need the Following :

Required Education:

• Bachelor's in a job related field

Degree Equivalency:

• Associates degree plus an extra 2 years job related work experience for a total of 4years of required work experience (see "required work experience")

OR

• 6 total years required work experience.

Required Work Experience:

• 2 years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Solid understanding of applications/development, quality assurance and integration methodologies, concepts and facilities in a mainframe, midrange, and/or PC/LAN environment.
• Good analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrates logical abstract thinking and assimilating/adhering to project goals and deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Able to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
• Pays attention to detail. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, vendors etc.

Required Software and Tools:

• Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, programming languages, and development tools and their usage in the company.

We Prefer That You Have the Following :

• Object Oriented Programming experience with Java or Python.
• Experience / exposure to UNIX based systems.
• Application / server configuration familiarity.
• Troubleshooting abilities.
• SQL Experience.
• Exposure to File Transfer Protocols.
• Cloud experience.
• Knowledge of data structures (csv, json, xml, xlsx)
• Ability to communicate and interpret communications
