Job Description Summary
A mechanical or aerospace engineer with gas turbine experience who will direct, and contribute to, aspects of the design, development, and fleet support of GE's heavy-duty industrial gas turbine combustion systems and aeroderivative products. The role entails fast-paced, diverse engineering deliverables in both hands-on and computational contexts, including exposure to all elements of the engineering cycle: design hand-calculations, determining boundary condition inputs into FEA, preparation and design of laboratory & field test hardware, and verbal & written presentation of data/conclusions. This role will have ownership of all Combustion mechanical-related deliverables for F-Class Combustion Systems, HA-Class DLN2.6+ Combustion Systems, and Aeroderivative Combustion Systems.

This base salary range for this role is 88,600.00 - 147,600.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This role is eligible for a 10% variable annual incentive bonus. Roles and Responsibilities
The Lead Professional Band -level Combustion Design Engineer will:
- Complete procedures, design templates, and other standard work methods using hand calculations, FEA, test data and good engineering judgement to justify designs against acceptance criteria.
- Design combustion systems to meet overall gas turbine product requirements.
- Support the design, analysis, and testing of advanced technology gas turbine combustion systems considering operability, emissions, reliability, and cost.
- Have some autonomy to make engineering judgements within a defined framework. In addition, he/she will consult and seek guidance from more senior members when necessary to accomplish defined work/priorities.
- Effectively document and present results in formal and informal reviews.
- Protect the IP rights of the Company and agree to the overall business priorities: 1. Safety, 2. Quality, 3. Delivery, 4. Cost, and with priority ordered as such.
- Maintain a basic understanding of key business drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 4 years of engineering experience
Desired Characteristics:
- A Masters' Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline
- 4 years of experience in gas turbine design
- Excellent presentation & communication skills
- Exceptional computer skills
