Summary
Provides comprehensive design, installation, project management, maintenance, testing, and support at the highest level for all hosted applications and elements of the global I/T infrastructure. Assists in planning organizing and controlling the activities of the team. Consults with I/T, internal and external customers on the resolution of complex hosting related technical problems. Guides new hardware, software, and hosting site installations, upgrades, and trouble-shooting. Reviews and acts on daily quality assurance and diagnostic support for the hosted infrastructure at internal and commercial hosting sites. Receives minimal supervision and serves as a work leader for other members of the team. Acts as project manager for hosting projects, installation and support initiatives. Serves as Manager, Datacenter Operations as requested.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintain global web site solutions utilizing IIS, Apache, Tomcat, JRUN, ColdFusion, .Net, HTML, ASP, PERL, Microsoft tools and a variety of web server and DBMS tools.
2. Work with client management, global technology developers, and external customers to guide and implement complex hosted applications on current and/or new infrastructure.
3. Assist in scheduling the design, upgrade, and maintain systems that employ scalable technologies supporting internal and commercial hosting initiatives; contribute hands-on support as required.
4. Build and support hardware and software on Windows or Linux/Unix servers to support deployment of commercial and internally developed global hosted applications.
5. Lead trouble-shooting and corrective active support to technology developers, publishers, external customers, and internal developers for global hosted related applications.
6. Guide and/or develop scripts to automate, monitor, and manage the global environment.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience, post graduate experience preferred. Related work experience and industry recognized certifications will be considered.
- Eight (8) or more years experience with overall computing architectures, WWW architectures, LAN/WAN networking, application design concepts, languages and tools across a wide spectrum of computing platforms and technologies.
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft or LinUnix operating systems.
- Extensive experience working with commercial developers, internal developers, and customers on the deployment and support of hosted products and infrastructure.
- Extensive experience with tools that provide services such as application testing, web application servers, and content management.
- Demonstrated experience with web server software and database connectivity to Oracle or SQL Server databases.
