Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

Role Summary

As a Data Engineer specializing in AWS and Snowflake, you will design and implement robust data pipelines, optimize data storage and retrieval, and ensure high performance and reliability for analytics workloads. You will work closely with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

Architect and implement data ingestion and transformation pipelines using AWS services and Snowflake.
Develop ELT workflows leveraging Snowflake’s capabilities (tasks, streams, stored procedures).
Optimize Snowflake performance: clustering, partitioning, caching, and query tuning.
Implement data lake and warehouse integration using AWS S3 and Snowflake.
Automate data workflows using AWS Glue, Step Functions, Lambda, and orchestration tools (Airflow/dbt).
Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance across environments.
Implement security best practices: RBAC, encryption, masking, and compliance standards.
Monitor and optimize costs for Snowflake and AWS resources.
Collaborate with BI teams for semantic layer design and reporting optimization.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 12+ years in data engineering, data warehouse
Core Skills:

Snowflake: data modeling, query optimization, performance tuning.
AWS: S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, Step Functions.
SQL (advanced), Python (data processing, automation).

ETL/Orchestration: Airflow, dbt, AWS Glue workflows.
Data Modeling: Dimensional/star schema, normalization, CDC patterns.
DevOps: Git, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform (preferred).
Security & Governance: RBAC, encryption, compliance frameworks.

Preferred Skills

Streaming: Kafka/Kinesis for real-time ingestion.
Experience with Snowpipe for continuous data loading.
Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
Certifications: AWS Data Analytics Specialty, Snowflake SnowPro.
