An excellent 12 + months long term contract opportunity for a NoSQL/SQL Data Modeler with our direct client in Fort worth, TX

Job Title: NoSQL/SQL Data Modeler (50% Onsite)

Rate: $60/hr to $75/hr DOE

1 year contract plus extensions

Seeking a qualified Data Modeler to work with IT professionals and business analysts to provide services in support of the development of future state data architecture and application modernization activities. The candidate will be in an expert role and work closely with Business, DBA, ETL and Data Management teams providing solutions for complex data related initiatives.

An ideal Data Modeler is an analytical and creative thinker who is not intimidated by roadblocks and challenges. Characteristics of a successful Data Modeler at include:

ability to determine when good is good enough to balance quality and delivery deadlines

comfortable in a sea of ambiguity

socratic method: ask a lot of Why, clarifying and probing questions

empathetic and curious

effective translator between technical and non-technical audiences

What You Need:

5 years data modeling experience

Experience at gathering and documenting requirements and translating them into data models

Experience in designing logical and physical relational data models

Designing data model structures for reuse

Experience with analytical modeling; Inmon and/or Kimball modeling techniques

Experience designing NoSQL data models using XML Schema (XSD), JSON Schema, and Avro.

Experience adhering to data naming standards and writing good data definitions

Solid knowledge of Data Governance and Management Concepts (MDM, Data Quality)

Experience in both waterfall and agile development practice

Demonstrate critical thinking, analytical skills, and employ judgment to offer thoughtful, concise input toward resolutions of problems

Pay attention to detail and is meticulous in their work

Skill/Requirements:

Exceptional and clearly understandable English in support of both verbal and written communication requirements

Effective communication at different levels (i.e. junior team members, peers, management, senior management) of the organization

Ability to facilitate small groups of application development and/or business users during data requirements and design sessions

Able to work independently and in a team

Strong leadership skills

Strong problem-solving skills

Excellent interpersonal skills
