Job Title: MVS Assembler

Location: Omaha, NE - Local candidates - 5 Days onsite

Duration: 6+ Months Contract to hire

As a Software Developer Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the Technology Operation group within Issuer Solutions' IT Operations.

As a hands-on candidate, your responsibilities will include collaborating with a team of associates and contractors, managing assigned projects, handling on-call escalations, ensuring service continuity, and promptly addressing production or client assistance requests. Additionally, you will closely collaborate with product strategy, development teams, and technology groups to establish robust processes and operating procedures.

Your key focus areas will involve monitoring and triaging problems, supporting the technology roadmap, and addressing technology debt.

This role operates within a high-performance culture, requiring efficient and rapid responses to critical system needs.

Responsibilities:
  1. Technical Expertise:
    • MVS Assembler: Leverage hands-on experience in MVS Assembler to contribute effectively.
    • Mainframe CICS: Utilize your expertise in Mainframe CICS for system maintenance and enhancements.
    • Mainframe Technologies and Tools: Apply your knowledge of various Mainframe technologies and tools to support critical systems.
  2. 24x7 Production Support:
    • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24x7 support for production applications.
    • Resolve escalated incident calls promptly to ensure uninterrupted services and meet SLAs.
  3. Infrastructure and Deployment:
    • Configuration Management: Manage configuration settings to maintain system integrity.
    • Continuous Integration (CI): Implement CI practices to streamline development workflows.
    • Code Analysis and Deployment: Conduct static and dynamic code analysis and oversee successful deployments.
    • Application Monitoring: Monitor application health and performance.
  4. Automation and Scalability:
    • Infrastructure Automation: Automate infrastructure tasks to enhance deployment efficiency.
    • Scalability: Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant.
  5. Documentation and Certification:
    • Create and maintain technical support documentation.
    • Uphold certification, Disaster Recovery, and Production Environment standards.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science (preferred).
  • 5 years of experience in application development and/or production support.
  • Understanding of DB2 RDBMS.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk).

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Hands-on experience in mainframe technologies, including Assembler and CICS.
  • Exposure to Agile and DevOps environments.
  • Full life-cycle development experience in a technology-driven environment (preferably in financial services and/or banking).
