Job Description

Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking a mid-level software engineer with critical thinking and effective communication skills to perform software engineering in support of tactical combat simulations. We are seeking a candidate to support of advanced algorithm development, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) applications for U.S. military applications. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the development of mission-critical, real-time military software applications and user interfaces across all phases of the system development lifecycle.
What you will be doing:
- Working with Sonalysts C++-based Global Multi-Domain Tactical Combat Simulation Game Engine on innovative and challenging software projects such as:
- Work on interesting and challenging software projects such as:
- Military sonar detection algorithms
- Advanced signal processing techniques
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) application development
- Working with a diverse technologies including SQL databases, scripting languages (Lua and JavaScript), multi-player networking, Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), 3D modeling, graphic rendering (OpenGL and GLSL), physics, and software interoperability
- Implement innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the latest techniques in modeling and simulation.
- Assist government teams with engineering development and fielding of military systems
- Participate in all areas of the software development lifecycle from planning through test & evaluation

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical degree
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with C++, Java, Python and/or MATLAB programming languages.
Strongly Desired Experience/Qualifications:
- Possessing an active Department of Defense SECRET (or higher) security clearance*
- Academic or professional experience with waterfall and agile software development processes.
- Professional experience working in CMMI software development environment.
- Demonstrative proficiency with at least one modern object oriented programming language (e.g., C#, Java, and/or C++). Experience in and/or knowledge of:
- Object Oriented Design and UML Tools.
- Multiple development languages.
- Software requirements and design.
- Architecture definition and/or software integration.
- Software development involving virtualization technology.
*Maintaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves periodic comprehensive background checks.
