Leading the future in luxury electric and mobility
At Lucid, we set out to introduce the most captivating, luxury electric vehicles that elevate the human experience and transcend the perceived limitations of space, performance, and intelligence. Vehicles that are intuitive, liberating, and designed for the future of mobility.
We plan to lead in this new era of luxury electric by returning to the fundamentals of great design - where every decision we make is in service of the individual and environment. Because when you are no longer bound by convention, you are free to define your own experience.
Come work alongside some of the most accomplished minds in the industry. Beyond providing competitive salaries, we're providing a community for innovators who want to make an immediate and significant impact. If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.
We are currently seeking a Lead/Senior Technician to support the testing infrastructure needs of the battery cell testing team, including an analytical lab. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and enjoys supporting their team through any challenge. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, possess the ability to learn quickly, and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. Because we are expanding so rapidly, you will find new challenges and growth opportunities that you can't find at most companies.

Work with engineers and technicians to design, build, and assemble test fixtures and wire harnesses. Collaborate to assist in standardizing laboratory operations and testing processes.
Organize and maintain the battery lab space, tools, and parts inventory, and promote a safe working environment.
Proactively communicate with engineers and cross-functional colleagues in EH&S and Facilities, e.g., identify areas of improvement through equipment procurement and automation
Execute cell testing and provide engineering support related to cell material and electrochemical analysis
50% supporting analytical lab and 50% supporting battery cell test equipment
Qualifications:
Experience setting up and maintaining lab equipment (environmental chambers, power supplies, plumbing, exhaust, pneumatics, inert gas systems, glove boxes, vacuum pumps)
Advanced skills in: mechanical, machine shop tools, and safety
Basic skills in: electrical knowledge/skill including fine pitch soldering, CATIA/Solidworks design, understanding of laboratory safety and hazards, e.g., chemical, electrical, lithium-ion battery
Experience in creating responsive and preventive maintenance plans for equipment
Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and computer operation, including online collaboration and documentation
Minimum 5 years experience in an R&D or testing environment
Candidates will take a skills test to validate these qualifications are met
Preferred:
Experience working near or around high-voltage equipment
Battery cell testing experience using Arbin or Maccor cyclers
Experience working in R&D laboratory environments and handling/disposing of hazardous chemicals and materials preferred
Experience in FAT/SAT equipment commissioning & qualification is preferred
Experience with Python, Matlab, Arduino, Eagle or similar software
Proficiency with Arbin and/or Maccor software is a plus. Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Smartsheets, or Quickbase is a plus
